Palot - Thayet Myo - Lat Pan
Steve
wakes very gingerly - still very unwell. Bronwen OK and Rosie wondering what all
the fuss is about. We have another short cruise this morning to Thayet Myo. This
town used to be the border between Royal and British Myanmar following the
second Anglo-Burmese war in 1852. Steve tries to put on a brave face, has a cup
of ginger tea and decides he has enough energy to do the morning tour of the
local market and then on to Thayet Golf Club - Myanmar's oldest golf course. Our transport for the
day - horse and cart (as you do!). Steve makes it to the market, but then decides to
return to the boat. Bronwen and Rosie go on to the golf course, but the general
opinion is that Steve didn't miss much.
The rest of the day is spent
cruising to our overnight mooring at Lat Pan - Bronwen and Steve catch up on
much needed sleep with Steve turning the corner and having a light dinner, but
Bronwen then starts the downhill slide. Not as severely as Steve but
nonetheless, not good.
